MSI's Latest Gaming Monitor Models at Computex 2024
MSI has established itself as a key player in the gaming monitor market, showcasing a variety of new OLED and QD-OLED models at Computex 2024. One of the standout models is the MEG 321URX QD-OLED, which MSI claims to be the world's first true AI gaming monitor. The AI engine integrated into this monitor is designed to assist gamers in improving their performance, with features like AI Skysight that scans the game's mini map in real time to identify threats and provide alerts to the player. Additionally, the monitor features a "SpectrumBar" that can display various stats using an RGB light strip below the screen. The MEG 321URX boasts a 31.5-inch, 4K QD-OLED display panel with a 240 Hz refresh rate and a 0.03 ms grey-to-grey response time. However, there is no mention of HDR certification for this model.
Connectivity options include DisplayPort 1.4 as the main input, along with two HDMI 2.1 ports, a USB Type-C with DP Alt-mode support offering 98 Watts of USB PD charging, a USB 2.0 Type-B input, two USB 2.0 Type-A outputs, and a headphone jack. The monitor also features KVM support and improved cooling through the use of a graphene film and custom heatsink. MSI's OLED Care 2.0 is included to reduce the risk of OLED screen burn-in. The MEG 321URX is expected to cost around US$1700, with availability details yet to be announced.
Next in line is the MPG 341CQPX QD-OLED, a 34.18-inch display with 3440 x 1440 resolution and an 1800R curvature. It shares the same refresh rate and response time as the MEG 321URX, as well as identical connectivity options. The MPG 341CQPX is VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 and ClearMR 13000 certified, and is set to be released in the US in July, followed by Europe in August, with a retail price of US$1000/£950/€1100.
Following that is the MAG 321UP, another 31.5-inch QD-OLED monitor featuring a next-gen QD-OLED panel. It offers a 165 Hz refresh rate and similar response time to the previous models. The MAG 321UP does not include KVM support and only provides 15 Watt USB PD charging. It holds VESA ClearMR 9000 certifications and DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification. The monitor is expected to be available in June for US$900.
Lastly, the MAG 271QPX QD-OLED E2 is a smaller 26.5-inch 1440p model with a 240 Hz refresh rate. It shares connectivity and features with the MAG 321UP, with the main difference being the VESA ClearMR 13000 certification. The MAG 271QPX is set to be released this month for US$800.
